You get a 14-day free trial with every feature. After that it's a monthly or yearly subscription through Google Play or the App Store. You'll see the exact price in the app before you subscribe.
No. After the trial the app needs an active subscription. If it lapses, your data is kept safe and comes back as soon as you re-subscribe.
Android: Play Store → your profile picture → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions.
iPhone: Settings → your name → Subscriptions.
You keep access until the end of the period you've paid for.
Tap Restore Previous Purchase on the subscription screen with an internet connection. It re-checks your Google or Apple account. Still stuck? Check your subscription shows as active in the Play Store or App Store, then contact us.
Android: some phones close background apps to save battery. Go to your phone's battery settings and set HGV Hours Tracker to Unrestricted or Not optimised.
iPhone: set Location to Always Allow for the app (Settings → HGV Hours Tracker → Location).
The 6-hour WTD clock resets every time you take a 15-minute break, but your duty limit (6, 9, 12 or 15 hours) counts from when you started and never resets. Late in a long shift your duty limit is the real limit, so the app merges the two tiles into one to avoid confusion.
Check your week start day in Wage Settings, and make sure holidays and sick days are marked in the Shift Planner. Each one counts as 8 hours towards your weekly WTD.
You need at least 60 minutes of breaks in the shift, and you can only use it 3 times a week. Check how many you've used in Settings. If the count is wrong, you can reset it there.
Check GPS driving detection is on in Settings and Location is set to Always Allow, not just "While Using". Driving is counted above about 5 mph, so slow moves round the yard may count as Other Work.
Yes. Press and hold the start time on the main screen and set the right time. For a shift that's already saved, open it in History and tap Edit shift.
Check it's on in Settings → Features → Wake-up alarm and you set a next start time when you ended your last shift. On Android, allow the app to show alarms over the lock screen and turn off battery optimisation for it. On iPhone, allow notifications and check Focus / Do Not Disturb isn't blocking it.
Yes. If tomorrow is marked as Rest or Holiday, the alarm is set for your next working day instead.
No problem: Start shift automatically is off by default. If you turned it on, switch it off in Settings → Features.
The app shows your gross pay before tax, NI, pension or other deductions. Check your rates in Wage Settings match your contract. Paid hours are duty time minus a 45-minute unpaid break, with a minimum of 8 hours a shift.
Agency mode is being tested. It lets you set up each agency with its own pay and overtime rules. The app will remind you to back up your data before you turn it on.
NFC (Android): hold the card very still against the back of the phone and try different positions. Check NFC is on, and take the card away from other contactless cards.
Card reader: open the Tachograph screen before plugging in, and make sure the card is pushed fully in. Newer USB-C iPhones need a USB-C reader, because a Lightning reader won't work through an adapter.
Yes. Your running shift is left alone and nothing gets cut in half.
Your tachograph recorded a fault for that day. It's a card or tachograph issue, not an app problem, so that day's hours may not be fully accurate.
On the old phone: Settings → Back Up Data and save the file somewhere you can reach. On the new phone: install the app, tap Restore Previous Purchase, then Settings → Restore Data and pick the file. Full guide here.
